DOVER_FOXCROFT – The Bingham Program announces a three year capacity building initiative grant award to Pine Tree Hospice (PTH). Jane Stitham, Executive Director of Pine Tree Hospice enthusiastically accepted this grant stating, “I am most excited for the opportunity that this will give our organization to increase and strengthen the services that we provide for families in our large geographic service area. The Bingham Program recognized that our Hospice volunteers are the foundation of our organization and in awarding this grant, PTH will be able to provide more comprehensive volunteer availability in its service areas, revise the hospice training program, offer greater support to its volunteers through the development of regional teams as well as furnish more direct contact to families.‚ÄĚ
‚ÄúI’m extremely pleased we were able to support Pine Tree Hospice’s capacity building efforts‚ÄĚ, said John Wentworth, advisory board member of the Bingham Program. “Pine Tree Hospice‚Äôs volunteers provide critical support for rural families struggling to cope with the difficult issues surrounding end of life care.” The Bingham Program is a charitable endowment established in 1932 to promote health and advance medicine in Maine. With the guidance of an advisory committee comprised primarily of Maine residents its focus has been to improve health service delivery in Maine, particularly in rural areas.
