Band Old Sledge Brings American DIY Ethic to New England

BANGOR  —The American folk band, Old Sledge, will kick off the tour of their first full-length album, “Don’t Let Your Deal Go Down,” at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3 at  The Reverend Noble Pub, 10 Broad St. in Bangor.

Old Sledge combines the Do-It-Yourself work ethic of American punk and traditional music sounds with saw-the-strings-off your fiddle hillbilly dance music. Old Sledge has won numerous awards for their instrumentation and vocals, including first place at the Appalachian String Band Competition, and awards at the West Virginia Fiddle and Banjo Championships.
