BLUE HILL, Maine — The Bagaduce Chorale will present a musical celebration of the feminine divine: Mary, Queen of Heaven at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9,¬† and at 3 p.m.¬† Saturday, Dec. 10, at the First Congregational Church.
The centerpiece of this holiday celebration will be Mozart‚Äôs ‚ÄúCoronation Mass‚ÄĚ, a dazzling missa brevis that will feature Mary Cheyney Gould at the Allen organ, along with strings and tympani. Featured soloists will include soprano Sara Schneider, who has returned to Blue Hill after teaching voice in Portland, Maine and at Camphill Village in Pennsylvania. The string quartet, to be led by Anatole Wieck, professor and music director at the University of Maine, Orono, will include BSO principal Sascha Zaburdaeva.
