Wednesday (September 22nd)
Go for the Gold boxes are distributed. Entry is free by visiting one of the participating merchants and dropping in an entry form. The Grand prize is $500 in Chamber Bucks, 2nd is $300 in Chamber Bucks and the 3rd prize is $200 in Chamber Bucks. Someone has to win, why not make sure it is you! Visit participating businesses to increase your chances.

On Friday (September 24th)
Maine Coast Memorial Hospital opens the tent flaps to its 9th Annual Craft Fair and Chinese Auction. Sponsored by Bar Harbor Bank and Trust. The fair will be held on the hospital campus and runs 10 a.m. â€“ 6 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The fair has a large selection of handmade goods, jewelry, pottery and foods. The Chinese Auction is supported by business donations of products and gift certificates. Think ahead for all your gift giving needs and pick-up a unique selection at the fair.
NEW Experience the fun at Harmon Tire with the Bridgestone Indy Simulator.
The simulator allows participants to drive an exact simulation of the Indy Race Car. Everyone is invited to stop by and experience the fun during Harmonâ€™s regular business hours.

Listen to WNSX @ 97.7 radio as they are holding a Live Remote Broadcast from 8a.m. to 3p.m. and from various locations throughout the day starting at the car show. Their DJâ€™s will be keeping you abreast of all that is going on throughout the City.
NEW The day begins with the Trenton Volunteer Fire Departments Blueberry Pancake and French Toast Breakfast from 6-10am. Adults $6- Children 5and up $3 Children under 5 are free. Oak Point Road, Trenton.
The 27th Annual Autumn Gold Car Show starts at 8 a.m. in the parking lot of Home Depot. Adding to the 150+ cars that annually register for the show, the Acadia Region Corvette Club and American Legion mini-cars are expected to attend. Admission to the show is free, to enter a car the fee is $5. The show runs until 1 p.m. and once the awards are made.
â€˘NEW Donâ€™t miss out on seeing the Firestone Monster Truck and Indy Car Simulator â€“ The Bigfoot Monster Truck is a 1,500 horsepower, menthanol burning, 10 foot tall storm of intense force. You will know you are in the right place when you feel the ground shaking!
â€˘The 2nd Classic Car City Cruise will occur. All the entered cars are invited to drive down High Street and Main Street in parade-like fashion.
The Down East Family YMCA will be hosting a Road Race 5 & 10K sponsored By Willeyâ€™s Sports Center. The race starts a 9:00 a.m. start at the Moore Community Center (previously the Moore School) on State Street in Ellsworth. For details and to register call the YMCA at 667-3086.

Pot of Gold will be hosted by Bangor Savings Bank (BSB) from 10 a.m. â€“ 2 p.m. Kids can pick up a Treasure Hunt card at any of the Autumn Gold venues and then visit the others and have their card â€śstickeredâ€ť or stamped. At Bangor Savings Bank on Foster Street, they will be treated to fun activities including the Anah Shrine clowns.
The ever popular waterfront activities begin at 11:30. In keeping with tradition, the Boat Rides on the Union River are free and to taste and vote on the entries in the 13th Annual Chowderfest is still only $5 per person. A bounce house for kids, area non-profits will have booths set up, live music and the Boy Scouts return serving up those yummy hamburgers and hot dogs â€“ mmm good!
The evening is filled with film choices â€“ Under the Stars the Best of HCTC Films will be shown at sunset, outside on the inflatable screen at the Knowlton School. The Grand Theatre has the second and third installment of the Star Wars Trilogy at 6pm and 9pm respectably. Tickets available at The Grand Box Office: 667-9500
On Sunday (September 26th)
The day starts off at 8:30 a.m. with the am shotgun start of the Acadia Birches 4rd Annual Autumn Gold Golf Tournament at Acadia Birches Golf Course. Gather up your clubs and come enjoy this scramble to benefit the Chamber. A great list of prizes and some unique categories, a continental breakfast and lunch are included in the $20 entry fee (after September 15 it will be $25). Morrison Chevrolet is sponsoring a hole-in-one prize â€“ check with the Birches for the specifics. To register, call 667-3621.
The Woodlawn Farmers Market will be held on the museum property, Rt 172, Surry Road in Ellsworth from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Friends of Acadia presents Lee Stetson in â€śAn Evening with John Muirâ€ť at the Grand Theatre on Main St. Actor Lee Stetson brings Americaâ€™s foremost conservationist back to life to delight and inspire you. Mr. Stetson has portrayed John Muir in Yosemite Valley for 27 years. Donâ€™t miss his humorous, spritited and unforgettable performance as the man who is considered the father of the national park system. Proceeds benefit Friends of Acadia and The Grand Theatre.
