BLUE HILL, Maine — Local author Paul Von Till will read from two of his novels‚ÄĒGreased Lightning and The Turgesius Curse at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at the Blue Hill Public Library. The The Turgesius Curse, a mystery, takes place in a small town in Maine where a number of priests have mysteriously died. A Monsignor and a female Jewish detective from New York investigate, and their search takes them back to Ireland and the Book of Kells. Greased Lightning is set in Scotland and the Isle of Man and involves a search for a rare Vincent motorcycle which the company claims was never built.
Paul Von Till is a retired packaging engineer and adjunct professor at Rutgers University. He has written two other historical novels ‚Äď, Of Kings-Cabbages & Knaves: A Soldier’s Chronicle about the US Revolutionary War, and The Gray Wolf Concordat about the Civil War. A longtime motorcyclist with ‚Äúover 60 years in the saddle,‚ÄĚ he has owned a plethora of British and American bikes that inspired one of his stories.
