Tea with Teapot Artists June 5th

Monson -

'Fall Teapot' by Natalie Gardner

MONSON – Lake Hebron Artisans has moved to the corner of Monson and Main Street, opposite the Fire Station (15 Tenney Hill). It reopens Saturday May 29th with a ceramic teapot show featuring work by potters Natalie Ann Gardner, Jemma Gascoine and Paige Pride. Meet the artists from 11:00am to 1pm, June 5th. Tea and refreshments will be served.

All three of the artists work on a potter’s wheel. ‘Making teapots is … one of the greatest challenges a potter can take on … the body, spout, lid, and handle … do need to work together as a whole’ maintains Don Davis in his book ‘Wheel-Thrown Ceramics’.

Natalie Gardner of Golden Apple Pottery in Palermo on Route 3 has been a potter for almost twenty years. Her goal is to create ‘beautiful form and balance in tableware and specialty pieces’. One of her pots was selected to appear on the Potter’s Council’s 2010 Raku Calendar. Natalie can be contacted at 993-2232. Her website address is www.goldenapplepottery.com

Jemma Gascoine began taking pottery classes eleven years ago, when she lived in London. One of the founders of Lake Hebron Artisans, Jemma Gascoine has since gone on to open her own gallery in Blanchard Maine, with the help of an Enterprise Grant. Her work is shown in several Fine Art Galleries across Maine and was featured at the CMCA’s Work of the Hand exhibition. Jemma Gascoine can be contacted at 997-3699 or www.jemmagascoine.com

Paige Pride graduated from the Maine College of Art with a BFA in Ceramics in 2009. Since graduating, Paige has been busy promoting her work at shows in Maine and to galleries such as the Kamruz Gallery in Telluride, Colorado. Paige’s work has been selling at Lake Hebron Artisans for over two years. Paige can be contacted at 717-8555 or paige18_122@yahoo.com

Lake Hebron Artisans (LHA), a non-profit organization, was founded nine years ago to provide a sales venue for finely crafted art and gifts made in Maine. LHA was described in the “Bangor Daily News” as ‘Maine’s most innovative gallery concept’.
