Suzanne McCaw appointed to AARP Maine’s Executive Council

BURNHAM – Suzanne McCaw, of Burnham, has been appointed to the AARP Executive Council in Maine. McCaw was born and raised in Texas, but has lived in Maine for the past 34 years. A married, mother of six, grandmother of seven, and great-grandmother of one, Suzanne is now retired after working for many years with Cianbro Corporation in Pittsfield. Suzanne has dedicated much of her life to community service, most recently adding AARP Executive Council member to her list of volunteer roles. Suzanne began with AARP as an online advocate before joining the Capital City Task Force in 2010. She is particularly passionate about advocating for healthcare issues, rights and benefits for rural elders.

As a member of AARP’s Executive Council, McCaw will play a key role in AARP’s strategic planning activities, as well as assist with a variety of advocacy, communications, and community outreach roles. In addition to their AARP Maine duties, council members also represent AARP Maine on statewide boards and commissions.
