OSBORN, Maine — Troop 160 Memorial Scout Camp is a public, non-profit, charitable 501 c 3 corporation dedicated to establishing a memorial scout camp in order to promote wilderness camping experiences. The members of the Board of Directors are all local volunteers with countless years of scouting background.
At present, the directors are conducting a capital campaign in order to raise the funds needed to purchase a two-acre property located on the shores of Spectacle Pond in Osborn, Maine. The property features over two hundred feet of shoreline, a two-story cottage, and a campsite. The remote location of the property will lend itself well to wilderness camping activities.
Once the property has been procured, a scout camp will be established in memory of Craig Goodwin and Adam Beggs. Both of these young men were active members of Boy Scout Troop 160, Lewiston, at the time of their death.
Troop 160 Memorial Scout Camp will be available to be used by any scout, scout family, Troop 160 Alumni, and members of the public interested in wilderness camping experiences. It is the intention of the Board of Directors to make the camp available at little, or no, cost. It is hoped that the camp will truly become “A Magical Place, Where The Spirit Lives.”
