WINTER HARBOR, Maine — SERC Institute will conduct a Veterans Day Ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11,¬† in Moore Auditorium on the SERC campus. The ceremony includes remarks from Michael Soukup, President and CEO of SERC Institute, guest speaker First Lieutenant Peter Duston, US Army, and music from the Sumner High School Chorus. Sheridan Steele, Superintendant of Acadia National Park will rededicate the memorial plaque honoring Joseph Mussetti, a Navy petty officer from Mount Desert Island killed in Viet Nam in 1967, for whom the old Navy gymnasium was named. The public is invited and refreshments will be served immediately following the ceremony at Schooner Commons on the SERC campus.
The event will be held on the campus of the Schoodic Education and Research Center, Acadia National Park, in Winter Harbor. It is free and open to the public. All veterans from all branches of the service are invited to attend.
