Hartland, Maine -

HARTLAND – The Somerset Valley Middle School Youth Advocacy Program (YAP)will join kids across the country for National Kick Butts Day Initiative, a nationwide initiative that makes kids leaders in the effort to stop youth tobacco use on Tuesday, April 12, at the school.  As part of the Kick Butts Day celebration, Somerset Valley Middle School YAP students have created Public Service Announcements to raise awareness about tobacco and alcohol issues.  Additionally, SVMS YAP has created an educational display called “They Put What In A Cigarette?!” This display and take-away information provided by HealthySV (a Healthy Maine Partnership) can be viewed at the Somerset Valley Middle School Science Fair. The Science Fair is open to the public from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 12.
