Proceeds from Dysarts Cookbook

Hermon -

BANGOR – In the true spirit of the holidays, the Dysart family, owners of the Dysart’s Truck Stop and Restaurant are donating 100 percent of the proceeds of their new cookbook to cancer charities, specifically Eastern Maine Medical Center CancerCare of Maine at the Lafayette Family Cancer Center.
“We are proud to produce this new book with familiar recipes and a few of our kitchen secrets to benefit cancer patients in our region.
The new cookbook is now available and features beautiful photos, authentic Maine stories, and favorite recipes from the restaurant, including homemade breads, stews, as well as pies and desserts. The book also includes stories about Maine’s agriculture, the trucking industry, and candid stories from employees and customers.
The Dysart family has been a loyal supporter of The Champion the Cure Campaign, the recent effort that provided over $12.5 million in support of the new cancer center.
Michael adds, “By purchasing this new Dysart’s cookbook you are directly helping a cancer patient in our community. I have four for family gifts this year. It’s a wonderfully illustrated history of a Maine tradition.”
The cookbook costs $19.95 plus tax. Community members can purchase the book at all seven Dysart locations or by visiting the Dysart’s website, www.dysarts.com.  For more information, call 207-942-4878.
