Learn about alternative therapies for heart disease

Belfast -

BELFAST – In celebration of American Heart Month the Waldo County General Hospital is sponsoring a forum titled, “Alternative Therapies for Heart Disease: What Works, What Doesn’t and What Could Hurt You” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17 in the Education Center.

The speaker will be cardiologist Dr. Dennis DeSilvey, who uses some alternative therapies for himself and his family. He will share what he has learned through his more than 30 years as a cardiologist and from current research and personal experience.

With heart disease as the leading cause of death by disease in the United States and someone suffering a heart attack every 20 seconds, it is important to know what might help, what doesn’t work, and what could actually hurt by interacting negatively with convention therapies.
