EMHS Long-Term care providers Receive National Excellence Award

Brewer -

BREWER -  –My InnerView, a national independent research company, has awarded both Charles A Dean Memorial Nursing Home in Greenville and Dexter Health Care in Dexter with the Excellence in Action award. This honor recognizes nursing homes that achieve high levels of excellence as demonstrated by having overall customer or workforce satisfaction levels that fall within the top ten percent of my InnerView’s database. This year, there are only eight long-term care facilities receiving the recognition in Maine, which are part of a select group of 519 in the nation.
Lisa Harvey-McPherson, RN, MBA, MPPM, EMHS vice president of Continuum of Care commented, “Our EMHS long-term care facilities take pride in the high level of safety, quality, and service we provide to our patients and their families. This professional best-in-class award represents the hard work and dedication our employees put forth in making each and every day of our patients’ experience fulfilling and special. I congratulate the employees of Dexter Health Care and Charles A Dean Memorial Nursing Home.”
The award is presented to My InnerView customers who completed a customer (resident or family) or workforce satisfaction survey in 2009, had a minimum of ten responses with a minimum 30 percent response rate, and scored in the top ten percent of qualifying facilities on the question “What is your recommendation of this facility to others?” or “What is your recommendation of this facility as a place to work?” in terms of the percentage of respondents rating the facility as “excellent.”
“This year’s award recipients are recognized and applauded by their customers and employees,” said Neil Gulsvig, President, My InnerView. “This annual award underscores the difference these nursing homes are making in the lives of their customers and staff.”
Maine has one of the largest senior populations in the country and ensuring access to high quality services for Maine’s seniors is an important component of the care provided by EMHS. There are ten long-term care facilities throughout EMHS, including nursing facilities and residential care, and these members establish uniform quality standards helping to ensure the best possible care is available from Waterville to Madawaska and from Greenville to Blue Hill.
