BANGOR – Hospice of Eastern Maine and Pathfinders: Support for grieving children, both programs of Bangor Area Visiting Nurses, will hold their 5th annual Celebrity Dessert & Auction at 5:45 p.m.Â Friday, Oct. 22 at Rangeley Hall located at Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor. The event will be hosted and auctioneered by local celebrities WABI TV5â€™s Joy Hallowell and Todd Simcox.
Scrumptious desserts provided by local restaurants and chefs will be available for sampling throughout the live and silent auctions. Community volunteers have been working hard gathering a variety of items and gift packages, including getaways; artwork; Maine made jewelry and childrenâ€™s items. There will be something for everyone and just in time for the holidays.
â€śWe find people enjoy this event because it is a low-key, come as you are fun night out. Our volunteers have put together incredible packages again this year,â€ť explains Wayne Melanson, Volunteer Manager and event coordinator. â€śWe have items and packages at all price values, providing an opportunity for everyone to get in on the action.â€ť
Proceeds to benefit terminally ill patients and their families and grieving children and adults in our community. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. for dessert and the silent auction. The live auction will begin at approximately 6:15 p.m. The evening should wrap up at approximately 8:30 p.m. Tickets are only $15 per person.
