CHARLESTON – Maine Commissioner of Agriculture, Seth Bradstreet will be coming to the Penquis region on Wednesday May 26th from 7 pm to 8 pm at the Maple Lane Farm on Rt. 11A, 224 Charleston Rd. in Charleston to talk about how farmers can better utilize the Maine Department of Agriculture. We will be touring Barry & Mary Higgins‚Äô, Maple Lane Farms new meat smoking facility too.
This meeting is sponsored by the Maine Highlands Farmers and the University of Maine Cooperative Extension and is open to all interested people.
The Maine Highlands Farmers was established to help farmers work together to promote and market agricultural related products to consumers. Immediately following Commissioner Bradstreet‚Äôs talk will be a regular meeting of the Maine Highlands Farmers where they will be discussing the fall Locavor dinner, fundraiser cookbook, and updates on summer marketing opportunities.
