CASTINE, Maine — The First World War was billed as the war to end war, yet we know it didnâ€™t. Samuel Cormier will give a talk on the causes and effects of the Great War as well as the life of a typical highland soldier 1914-1918, his weapons, equipment and experience in the trenches at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at the Wilson Museum. The public is encouraged to bring World War I memorabilia for show & tell.
Samuel Cormier is a member of the 42nd Battalion of the Black Watch, Royal Highlanders of Canada, Living History Association.
