WINTER HARBOR, Maine — The Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center in hosting a 2-day Turning Tide Ovarian Cancer Retreat for women with ovarian cancer beginning with registration at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, and ending with lunch and a closing ritual at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, at the Schoodic Education and Research Center in Acadia National Park. The retreat objective is to offer the opportunity to empower ovarian cancer survivors with information, networking opportunities and fun in a nurturing and spiritual environment. The retreat will be facilitated by Mary-Carol Griffin, the bereavement services coordinator for Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County and an Episcopal Church deacon serving at Church of Our Father in Hulls Cove.
