Winter Program Offered in Acadia National Park

BAR HARBOR -  Winter program offered in Acadia National Park at Sand Beach from 10-11 a.m.  Friday, Feb. 25 to investigate the mysterious forces that shape and change the beach over time and through the seasons. Dress appropriately for the weather. There is no fee for the park at this time of year.

To access Sand Beach, leave Bar Harbor on Main Street, or Route 3, going towards Otter Creek. About a mile from town turn left onto the Schooner Head Road. There is a brown park sign indicating winter access to Acadia. At the end of the Schooner Head Road, take a right out to the loop road, then turn left. A little way past the closed entrance station is the parking lot for Sand Beach. The ranger will meet you at the top of the stairs to the beach.
