Volunteers needed for Walk to end Alzheimer’s

ROCKLAND, Maine–In the U.S., an estimated 5.4 million people are living with Alzheimer‚Äôs disease, and someone develops the disease every 69 seconds.

Quarry Hill and the Knox Center for Long Term Care, supporters of the Walk to End Alzheimer‚Äôs, need volunteers for this year’s walk from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Knox Center for Long Term Care in Rockland. Volunteers are needed as crossing guards, for the registration and water tables, for chalk messages and at the flower garden. Volunteers will receive a complimentary t-shirt and the grateful appreciation of the walk sponsors. For more information, call Sara Hatfield at 594-6850.
