Toy Drive at the Blue Hill Public Library

Blue Hill -

BLUE HILL, Maine — There are still a few days left in the Blue Hill Public Library‚Äôs holiday toy drive which will end on Saturday, Dec. 17. The Friends of the Library Holiday Party that day from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. will be the last chance to make a donation. Toys should be wrapped with a tag identifying if it is for a boy or a girl and the appropriate age range. Toys will then be donated to the Tree of Life food pantry in Blue Hill for the children of local needy families.

The Tree of Life distributed around 140 tons of food last year, and the numbers are rising each year. In 2004, the weekly number of families served was 77; in 2008, it was 164; and in October of this year that number was up to 204.

Donated gifts may be placed under the tree by the reference desk on the main floor. For more information, call 374-5515.
