Run For Their Lives 5K in Bangor, Maine

Bangor -

BANGOR, Maine –¬† Run For Their Lives, a nationwide 5k being held across the country to help stop human sex trafficking, will be held for the first time in Maine at 7:30 a.m.¬† Saturday Oct. 29, at Husson University.¬† With an estimated two people every minute being sold into slavery, Run For Their Lives is aimed to put the spotlight on human trafficking in hopes that it can be stopped in the coming years. Registration is $24 per person, which is also the amount it costs for freedom for one girl per night.

One statistics claims that there are over 300,000 girls in one of Thailand‚Äôs 60,000 sexual service centers. Sex trafficking is a $27 Billion a year ‚Äúbusiness‚ÄĚ which is why measures have to be taken to ensure this is stopped.
