Rosscare Facilities Celebrate Assisted Living Week – September 11 – 17

Bangor -

BANGOR, Maine — In observance of National Assisted Living Week, Sept. 11-17, assisted living facilities affiliated with Rosscare will host a series of events developed as a special opportunity to bring together residents, families, employees, volunteers, and the surrounding community to celebrate “Forever Proud.”

“Forever Proud” is the theme for National Assisted Living Week, which has special meaning because the week begins on the tenth anniversary of 9/11 and is a time for the community to reflect the pride we feel as citizens and active members of our communities. During this time, assisted living communities from around the nation will be remembering and joining together in celebration of what we have accomplished in the past ten years.

“Residents and staff in our assisted living facilities are excited to celebrate this year’s patriotic theme,” explains Amy Cotton, nurse practitioner and director of operations at Rosscare. “Many of them have either served our country or have family and friends who have served or are currently serving. Every day, our facilities live a commitment to provide exceptional care and services to our residents, but this week we extend a special thank you to all those that have truly made a difference in our lives, especially in the last ten years.”

Some of the week’s special events include:
• Ross Manor and Sylvia Ross Home, Bangor – 9/11/11 – will be hosting a cookout with special invitations to our first responders – this event is invite only. Ross Manor will also be inviting the Bangor High School ROTC on 9/16 to perform a flag ceremony at Engel Place.
• Dirigo Pines, Orono – 9/13/11 – Musical entertainers, “Two for Tea” will perform for residents; 9/15/11 – Dirigo Pines staff will host a special BBQ celebration for staff and residents.
