Robert Zabierek announces candidacy


SHERMAN – Robert “Bo” Zabierek has announced his candidacy for Maine House District #9 as an Independent candidate. This will be his second run for the office which includes twenty-five towns and townships in Southern Aroostook and Northern Penobscot Counties.

Bo Zabierek attended the Boston University College of Communication where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications in 1979.

He worked in broadcasting for 20 years for CBS\Boston & WSBK-TV38 as their General Services Manager before retiring and moving his family to Sherman Mills, Maine where he has owned a home for the past 26 years.

Bo has worked for the Region Two School of Applied Technology in Houlton for the past five years; first as an instructor in their Applied Technology Lab at both Katahdin and Southern Aroostook High Schools, and again as an Educational Technician in Houlton in the Auto Mechanics and Auto Body shops. He has been an Applied Academics Teacher at Region Two for the past two school years where his duties include Remediation, Credit Recovery, and National Standards Testing.

He is also a member of the Leadership Team for the Southern Aroostook Math and Science Partnership which is a three year Math and Science grant administered by The Great Schools Partnership in Portland, Maine.

Bo has moderated town meetings and has been the Election Warden in Sherman for several years as well as a Caucus Convener for Silver Ridge and Benedicta; Sherman since 1992.

In his last campaign for the State House, Bo was honored to have received the endorsements of the Maine Education Association, the Maine State Employees’ Union, the AFL-CIO, the Maine Nurses Association, and the Maine People’s Alliance – Vote 2008 Campaign.
