Raffle to Benefit New Program for Seniors

Pat Oftendal, Beth Bush and Rob Green meet to plan fundraising for At Home Downeast.

EASTPORT, Maine – At Home Downeast in Washington County will hold a raffle on Saturday, July 2, to support the launch of this new program designed to help seniors live in their homes longer, healthier and safer. Raffle tickets will be available from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. in front of the Thrift Shop located in the Berman Mall at 60 Water Street in Eastport.

Items in the raffle have been donated by local businesses and include a $100 gift certificate from The First bank of Eastport, $100 gift certificate from Quoddy Bay Lobster, and a free wash and wax from Olson’s Automotive Detailing valued at $49. A $50 gift certificate from Dastardly Dick’s Wicked Good Coffee has also been donated to the raffle by a supporter of the project. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5.

At Home Downeast in Washington County is a program of Washington Hancock Community Agency, a nonprofit organization. The target area for the program is Eastport, Lubec and surrounding communities. At Home Downeast in Washington County is a member based organization that will provide a range of services to older residents that will make it possible for them to continue to live in their homes. Services may include transportation, grocery shopping, prescription delivery, access to healthcare professionals, educational opportunities and information on local resources. The program will be supported by membership fees, donations and volunteers.
