Lincoln Walks to End Abuse

Lincoln -

LINCOLN, Maine — In recognition of October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the public is invited to join Lincoln Police Chief William Lawrence, Lincoln Director of Parks and Recreation Ron Weatherbee, staff of Penobscot Valley Hospital and Health Access Network, and other community members, in the Lincoln Walk to End Abuse, beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, at the downtown gazebo. Prior to the walk, at 4 p.m., Spruce Run Agency, the domestic violence agency serving Penobscot County, will be displaying the Clothesline Project in the gazebo. The Clothesline Project consists of shirts created by local survivors, family members and friends, reflecting the prevalence of domestic violence and sexual assault and detailing the impact upon victims and their loved ones. Light refreshments follow the walk. For more information, visit www.sprucerun.net.
