PATTEN, Maine — The Katahdin Valley Health Center has held an employee fundraising event to provide Thanksgiving baskets for local families. This year, 20 KVHC employees donated $700.00 toward this event, which was generously matched by KVHC for a grand total of $1,400.00. With this funding, we were able to provide 52 Thanksgiving baskets to local families in Millinocket, Patten, Island Falls, Houlton, and surrounding communities.
Each basket has everything needed to provide a complete Thanksgiving meal, including a 12-14lb turkey, stuffing mix, potatoes, gravy, various side dishes and trimmings, and a freshly baked pie. Community members that have received a Thanksgiving basket are given a voucher that can be redeemed for their basket on Friday, November 18th at their local Hannaford store. This year’s fundraiser was directed by Megan Day, with aid from Carrie Kyllonen and Lynn Appleton.
Katahdin Valley Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center dedicated to providing quality, low-cost health care to the Katahdin region. KVHC has clinics located in Patten, Houlton, Island Falls, and Millinocket.
