BANGOR, Maine — Hospice of Eastern Maine (HOEM) will conduct its annual volunteer training course from 5:30-9 p.m. on six consecutive Tuesdays beginning Oct. 11 and running through Nov. 15 at Eastern Maine Medical Center Healthcare Mall, 885 Union St. in Bangor. HOEM invites caring men and women living within a 25-mile radius of Bangor to apply for a place in this fall‚Äôs training course. HOEM volunteers are compassionate people of all ages and walks of life who share their time and friendship with terminally ill patients and their caregivers, generally giving 2-to-4 hours of service per week when assigned to a patient, and are members of the interdisciplinary group that plans and delivers their patients‚Äô care. Potential volunteers must complete an application and interview prior to Oct. 7 and class size is limited to 16.
