BELFAST, Maine — First Church in Belfast, in conjunction with the Social Justice Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Church and the Peace & Justice Group of Waldo County, will sponsor a Waldo County Community Resources Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the First church, on the corner of Spring and Court streets. The church is handicapped accessible through the Court Street entrance. During this day-long event, representatives from BCOPE, Belfast Soup Kitchen, Big Brother/Big Sister, Broadreach, The Game Loft, Habitat for Humanity, Hospice of Waldo County, Kno-Wal-Lin, Making Change, Mid-Coast Hospitality House, New Hope for Women, Restorative Justice Project, Safe Home Network, SAIL, Spurwink, Waldo County Community Action Partners, Waldo County Peace and Justice Group and others will present information and offer workshops on a range of services available in Waldo County to meet the needs of the public. Topics will include mental health care, elder care, substance abuse treatment, domestic violence prevention, services for the homeless, youth activities, hospice care, food assistance opportunities, and others.
