BANGOR, Maine — With Halloween rapidly approaching people are decking their houses in cobwebs and pumpkins, scrambling for costumes for their kids, renting spooky movies, and making plans for the infamous All Hallows Eve – and so is the Down East AIDS Network.
The Down East AIDS Network will co-host the DEAN Masquerade Spooktacular and Therapy Lounge 2nd Annual Drag Ball at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at the Therapy Lounge in the Howard Johnson’s, at 336 Odlin Road.
This special event will start at 7 and run well into the night. Appetizers will be served alongside a ‘Spooktacular Show’ performed by the Therapy Lounge’s drag queens. Attendees can buy into a raffle featuring prizes from over 10 area businesses ranging from a gift certificate to a fancy restaurant, to free yoga lessons, to a romantic stay at a scenic hotel. And don’t forget to dress up in your spookiest or most outrageous costume, for two winners will be chosen for the best costumes!
A $5 cover will be charged, of which $2 will be donated to the Down East AIDS Network in their mission to support those affected by HIV and educate and inform the public to prevent the spread of the virus.
