OWL’S HEAD – The Knox County Democratic Committee will once again honor a dedicated volunteer and friend on Sunday, August 22nd when it holds its annual John Syrett Lobster Bake. John died in a sailing accident in 2005 only a few days after successfully chairing that yearâ€™s lobster bake. The event was named after him in 2006. The Bake, which has become a popular and fun tradition, is open to the public with advance payment.
The Lobster Bake will be held at the oceanfront home of Ken and Barbara Wexler in Owl’s Head, beginning with a social hour at 4:00 pm. The dinner catered by Mike Mayo, 4M Productions, begins at 5:15. Tickets are $30 per person, and the meal includes a lobster, mussels, corn, coleslaw, potato salad, potato chips, hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, soft drinks and cookies. Wine and beer will also be available.
