HAMPDEN -The Highlands United Methodist Church annual Christmas fair from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20 at 44 Kennebec Road.
The organization for the Christmas Fair begins in late summer and early fall. Since September, several members have met to create crafts. This year’s fair features crafts, ornaments, fanci-work, and wreath making. It also includes baked goods, cheese, jams, jellies, and garden vegetables. Members have been busy organizing the silent auction. Gift certificates make great gifts. There will be a children’s shop. All items will be $1 or less. The shop opens at 8 am for children to shop for family members and to all other shoppers at 12 noon.
This is church’s largest fundraiser of the year stated Darla King, fair organizer and church treasurer. It supports many church programs including Sunday school, the summer vacation bible school, adult bible study as well as outreach ministries to Hampden Neighborhood Food Cupboard and Help for Hampden fund.
