DAMARISCOTTA – Lincoln County Historical Association’s Open House at the 1754 Chapman-Hall House in Damariscotta has been rescheduled (due to Sunday’s rain) to this Saturday June 12th. Our day will kick off with a plant sale from 9 A.M. to noon with proceeds going towards Chapman-Hall House programming and repairs. Perennials, groundcovers, herbs, etc. are looking for a new home and will be waiting for you.
From noon to 4 P.M. we will offer free tours of Damariscotta’s oldest house. Come see this delightful double plank on frame cape. Interesting construction details are revealed for all to see. We also hope that you will sit awhile and enjoy the wonderful music of Castlebay. Julia Lane and Fred Gosbee will enthrall all comers with their repertoire of authentic 18th Century Colonial New England tunes from 1 P.M. to 3 P.M. Castlebay combines tin whistle, guitar, fiddle, voice and Celtic harp in a way that will surely energize you for the rest of your day.
The 1754 Chapman-Hall House, located at the top of the Downtown on Main St., will be open Saturdays and Sundays from noon – 4:00 P.M. from now until Columbus Day. We will also be open Fridays in July and August from noon-4:00. Otherwise open by chance or appointment (882-6817; 737-2239).
