ELLSWORTH -¬† The Caregiver Resource Center at Friendship Cottage is sponsoring Caregiver‚Äôs Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.¬† Wednesday, Nov. 17 at the Unitarian Universalist Church. The day includes yoga classes, massage, workshops and lunch. There is no charge for any of the activities.¬† For information, call 374-5852.
Janet Lewis of Eastern Area Agency on Aging is offering information on caregiver issues at 11:30. EAAA offers assistance, support, referrals, and sometimes just a friendly ear to anyone who provides unpaid assistance to a senior. EAAA also offers supportive individual education on caregiving issues and respite for caregivers of families dealing with Alzheimer‚Äôs disease.
Attorney Roberta Kuriloff is holding a workshop on Estate Planning and Long Term Care Concerns at 12:30. This workshop will cover how to preserve an estate while at the same time insuring adequate care for your loved ones; the importance of financial and medical powers of attorney; how to plan for children with disabilities or special needs; how to protect assets if one spouse needs nursing home care.
For lunch, Eileen Dunn-Kell is preparing a delicious soup, accompanied traditional bread by Tinder Hearth Wood-Fired Bread. Eileen has worked at local fine restaurants and independently for over 20 years, most recently as executive chef for the Lookout Restaurant in Brooklin.
During the afternoon there will be two opportunities to bend and stretch with yoga classes by Sally Clinton, a Certified Yoga Instructor and Breathwork Facilitator and a Certified Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist and Ayurvedic Consultant.
Throughout the day, there will be displays sponsored by EAAA, Beth Wright Cancer Resource Center, Edee Howland, Healthy Peninsula, Friendship Cottage Caregiver Resource Center and others. There will also be a chance to win a door prize.
