Benefits for Ron and Cathy Voisine of Fairfield Center

SKOWHEGAN, Maine — Benefits to assist Ron and Cathy Voisine of Fairfield Center are scheduled for Oct. 21 in Winslow and Oct. 23 in Skowhegan.

Cathy Voisine has decided to donate one of her kidneys to her husband, and the surgery is scheduled for Nov. 1. The Voisines have incurred tremendous medical expenses since he was diagnosed with kidney failure.

The Winslow benefit will take place at the Veterans of Foreign Wars hall from 8 p.m. to midnight. Richard Jandreau, who arranged the event, also will serve as DJ. They will ask for a $10 donation, and people should bring their own food and snacks. There will be a cash bar.

The Skowhegan event will take place at Skowhegan-Madison Elks Lodge 2531, where Ron Voisine is Leading Knight or First Vice President and Cathy Voisine is Chaplain.The couple’s daughter and her husband, T.J. and Jessica Hebert, arranged with event. Admission is $6 for a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 6 p.m.
