SOUTHWEST HARBOR – The Wendell Gilley Museum will host the Members‚Äô Carving Club¬† from 1-4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5. All members of the Museum are welcome every Friday afternoon through April, weather permitting. The Club is an informal gathering. Get together to work with fellow carvers, share tips and the Museum‚Äôs reference resources. . Coffee, cookies and camaraderie are added benefits. New members are welcome to join at any time.
For those seeking an introductory carving program or a chance to get a start on hand-made holiday decorations or gifts, the annual winter ornament carving workshop will take place 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14. The one-day class is ideal for beginning adults, but experienced cavers are welcome as well. Pre-registration is required; fees are $20 for Museum members and $25 for non-members. All supplies are provided and tools may be borrowed during the workshop. The class is open to adults and children 11 and older, accompanied by an adult.
