ELLSWORTH: Woodlawn will offer a Chair Caning Workshop from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27 and continuing on Mondays and Fridays from 6:30-9:30 p.m. through Oct. 21.
Whether it is a precious antique, grandma’s rocker, or a flee market treasure, you may wish to restore your chair to its original beauty by joining us for this chair caning workshop with Al Jenkins.
On the first class, Monday, September 27th, 6:30-8:00 pm, participants will need to bring their chair with holes drilled around the perimeter of the seat. They will be taught how to measure cane needed for their project. The cane will be ordered and available to do the work on the following classes, scheduled on Mondays and Thursdays, October 4th, 14th, 18th, and 21st, 6:30-9:30pm.
The cost to the workshop is $65 for members / $75 for non-members excluding material. Depending on your project, the cane should run between $30 and $40 for 1 to 2 chairs. As space is limited, pre-registration is required by calling Woodlawn at 667-8671.
