Spring AARP Driver Safety Course in Belfast

Belfast -

BELFAST, Maine – The Spring AARP Driver Safety Course,  presented through a partnership between AARP and the Volunteers of America will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at the Reynolds House, located off Congress St. and Route 1 in Belfast.

AARP Driver Safety instructor Paul Sheridan will teach defensive driving techniques and strategies, traffic laws, rules of the road and more in the four-hour course. They will discover how to adjust driving to age-related changes in vision, hearing, and reaction time through an interactive discussion about the changing technology on newer vehicles and the warning signs that suggest it’s time to give up the keys. Best of all, in Maine, drivers 55 years or older who successfully complete the AARP course are eligible for a car insurance discount, good for three years.

Course seating is limited; there is a $14 fee, with a $2 discount for AARP members; advanced registration is required. For more information, call 338-0350.
