Drawing and Painting Owls with Rebekah Raye

ELLSWORTH – Artist and children’s book illustrator Rebekah Raye will be offering 2 drawing and painting classes with the owls and other bird life living at Birdsacre in Ellsworth from 10-11:30am on Saturday, July 17th and July 24th.
In this class students will begin by observing and learning about the different Owls that are residents at Birdsacre. A series of drawings from feather textures and colors to the full form will be discussed and expressed. A wide range of media will be used from graphite to ink, pastels and watercolor. The class is recommended from ages 8 to adults. Special prices for families working together will be considered. Work completed from the class will then be on exhibit at Birdsacre for the month and during Birdsacre’s annual birthday celebration July 31st where many fun and exciting events will be held. The 200 acre Birdsacre Wildlife Sanctuary is a charitable, non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the home and vision of pioneer, ornithologist-photographer Cordelia J. Stanwood, as a living memorial to her achievements in Ornithology and life.
