COA Summer Program offers discounts to Mainers

Bar Harbor -

BAR HARBOR – College of the Atlantic’s summer professional development classes—attended by teachers and others across the nation—have just been discounted for Maine residents.

Maine residents who register by May 1 enjoy a hefty discount. Instead of paying $850 for a two-credit, week long class, they pay $500; and instead of $1700 for a two-week, four credit class, it’s $1000. Any lab fees are additional, as are room and board.

And early-birders interested in a special new program about Acadia National Park can enjoy an even larger discount. “Our National Parks: Research and Science Behind the Scenery,” includes a $250 scholarship to the first five people who register for the class. (Contact the summer programs office for details.)

Courses are based on COA’s Bar Harbor campus and use Acadia National Park and the waters of Frenchman Bay as a living laboratory. For more information visit the program’s website, www.coa.edu/summercourses or contact the Summer Programs office at 207-801-5634 or summer@coa.edu.
