Scenic Byway Advocacy Group to host a public meeting Feb. 2

MILLINOCKET, Maine — The Grindstone Scenic Byway Corridor Advocacy Group will roll out its Partnership plan from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at the Pelletier Loggers Family Restaurant. The public is invited to attend this event. The event will include an overview of the plan (http://grindstoneplan.wordpress.com), discussion of proposed strategies and projects and formation of a new “Katahdin Partnership” to oversee implementation of the plan.

The Corridor Advocacy Group, with support from Eastern Maine Development corporation and the Maine Department of Transportation, has been working for over a year, looking at the key natural and cultural resources in the greater Katahdin area and trying to figure out how best to conserve, enhance and promote those resources for the purpose off attracting new visitors to the area.
