ROCKPORT, Maine–Rockport Automotive owner Steve Dixson has announced the dealership is participating in the nationwide ‚ÄúWheels to Prosper‚ÄĚ program that awards a late model car that has been fully inspected and repaired to a worthy and deserving individual, helping him or her get back on their feet again.
Sam Dyer of Dyer’s Detail has done a complete detail of the 2001 Passat in contribution to the giveaway, VIP Auto Parts and Service has donated 4 new tires and AAA of Northern New England is providing a 1-year Classic Road Service Membership.
The qualifying recipient must first be nominated by a letter of recommendation from someone who believes he or she meets the following prerequisites: resides in Knox or Waldo counties; is, by nature, a giver and is active in one or more forms of community service; and the nominee would find it difficult to procure or replace an existing automobile given his or her current fiscal situation.
The first giveway is 2 p.m.Saturday, July 30th, at the dealership. The entry deadline is Friday, July 15.
The recipient of the fully-serviced Passat will be chosen by members of the West Bay Rotary. Gary Walker, Mark Masterson, Jan Campbell and Sandy Cox, with Dixson serving as an advosor, will review all of the nominations.
If you know someone who you believe meets these criteria you may nominate him or her by submitting your letter of recommendation on Rockport Automotive‚Äôs Web site, www.rockportautomotive.com at the contact page with ‚ÄúWheels to Prosper‚ÄĚ in the subject line. Include the nominee’s name, phone number and available contact information.
Submissions can also be mailed to Rockport Automotive, Attn: Wheels to Prosper,
