BANGOR â€“ Talented artists from all over Maine, now have a new venue to feature their work. Three local jewelry designers, Anne Reigstad, Amanda Coburn, and Roxanne Munksgaard have opened a unique gallery to Downtown Bangor. Maine Jewelry & Art is located at 96 Harlow Street (across from Bangor City Hall and Bangor Public Library) and is filled to the brim with handcrafted works, all from Maine artists. The gallery boasts one-of-a-kind art jewelry, felted wool hats, hand painted silk scarves, handbags made of recycled and vintage fabrics, carved wood, metal sculpture, glass and steampunk art, and the face jug pottery of Steve Weslow.
Maine Jewelry & Art will be hosting a Grand Opening Celebration and Open House from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21 with an Artists Reception from 4-8 p.m.Â There will be several door prizes, including jewelry from Riverside Jewelry Designs, Ymir Glass Design, and Maine Peace Works, as well as two tickets to the March 13 performance of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra!
