Lincolnville, Maine -

LINCOLNVILLE, Maine Everyone at Cellardoor Winery is busy putting the finishing touches on plans for VinFest 2011, to take place on the grounds of the Winery on Youngtown Road in Lincolnville on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.

Ushering in Maine’s beautiful fall season, the annual two-day celebration will kick off with a sparkling dinner-dance in a festive tent set in the midst of the Vineyard on Friday evening from 5:30 until 10 p.m. The elegant four-course menu, paired with Cellardoor wines, will be prepared by the executive chefs of Natalie’s at Camden Harbour Inn and the Hartstone Inn (both in Camden), Lily Bistro (Rockland), and David’s (Portland). Trillium Caterers (Belfast) will serve delicious treats during cocktails and at dessert time.

Guests will dance the night away to the sounds of the Chris Humphrey Band. A special highlight will be a performance by Grammy-winning R&B singer-songwriter Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds. Babyface has composed for and/or performed with an entire galaxy of stars including Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Madonna, Ashanti, Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men, Aretha Franklin, Pink, and Paula Abdul.

The fun-filled Fall Harvest Celebration will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, and include food, wine, live music, and a variety of activities. Among these will be grape stomping, a homemade wine competition (call 207-763-4478 for details and advance registration), a grape-crushing demonstration, face painting, hula-hooping demonstrations, a scarecrow-decorating contest, wine tastings, farm stands, cooking demonstrations, Model T rides, horse-drawn wagon rides, and lunch prepared by Riverfront Barbeque & Grille (Augusta).
