BANGOR, Maine — Bangor Savings Bank Foundation began its annual grant-making initiative, Community Matters More, on Jan. 23. Through its charitable program, Maine’s largest independent bank asks Maine residents to weigh in on how best to allocate $100,000 the bank has pledged to give to 68 Maine nonprofit organizations.
The program not only provides financial support to 48 nonprofits, it also generates substantial exposure and community awareness for the work these organizations do to enhance the quality of life in Maine.
Votes can easily be cast online at www.bangor.com/cmm. Paper ballots are available at Bangor Savings branches statewide and at each of the participating nonprofits. Maine residents are eligible to vote for up to three nonprofits. The voting period begins Monday, Jan. 23 through March 5, with the winners announced by the end of March.  For more information, call Stacey at 262-4959.
